At a meeting early Saturday, Maple in The County organizers from 13 local sugarshacks made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival scheduled for March 28-29 amid COVID-19 concerns. The decision aligns with Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health recommending the cancellation of events with more than 250 people in attendance.

“While we are saddened that Maple in The County will not be taking place this year, the health and well-being of the community and the guests we welcome to our sugar shacks, farms and participating businesses is our top priority,” said Ron Hubbs, chair of the festival planning committee. “We could not, in good conscience move ahead as a festival with the uncertainty and rapidly evolving situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Maple conditions have been excellent this year and we continue to produce maple syrup and other maple products.
Be sure to pick up your favourites and support your local farmers.
